Youniti is a new platform that makes it easy for people to find goods, services and assistance available for free or under $40.
Youniti remits part of its earnings to the Youniti Foundation. We created this foundation so that it can distribute all the donations it receives to charities like Moisson Montréal, Moisson Rive-Sud, Accueil Bonneau, La Guignolée des médias and others. The Youniti Foundation also buys food and other essential products for people in need.
Youniti is counting on your help to make the platform successful. The more you contribute to the site, the more Youniti will be able to share with the community.

SECTION 2: SIGNING UP AND MANAGING YOUR ACCOUNT
WHY DO I NEED TO SIGN UP?
Individuals and businesses can sign up for free.
Once you have signed up, you can use Youniti to give, sell or find:
- Give items
- Sell items for less than $40
- Request items or assistance
- Trade items
- Volunteer your services
- Advertise goods and services that are free or under $40
- Offer professional services at an affordable price
- Share your affordable events, activities, menus and more
- Save your favourite searches and receive alerts when new ads that meet your criteria are posted
WHY DO I NEED TO SPECIFY MY LOCATION WHEN I SIGN UP?
This information will let other users know approximately where they will have to go to buy, recover or trade items or services.
Your complete address will never be posted in ads.
You decide where you want to meet the other user to give, sell or trade items.
IS MY PERSONAL INFORMATION PROTECTED?
Your personal information is protected as described in Youniti’s Terms and Conditions.
CAN I HAVE MORE THAN ONE ACCOUNT ON THE SITE?
Only one account per person is permitted. Users who do not comply with this rule may have all their accounts deleted without notice.
By accepting the Terms and Conditions, you agree to create just one account per person.
I FORGOT MY PASSWORD. WHAT SHOULD I DO?
Go to the Log in section.
Click the “Forgot your password?” option located to the left of the “Sign in” button.
Enter your email address.
We will send you an email with instructions for resetting your password.
WHY WAS MY ACCOUNT FROZEN?
Your account may be frozen if you violate Youniti’s Terms and Conditions. This could entail posting ads for prohibited goods and services, creating several accounts or using inappropriate language when communicating with other users.
SECTION 3: DONATING OR SELLING GOODS AND SERVICES
Once you have created an account, you will have access to all of the site’s features, for give, sell or find goods and services.
HOW DO I GIVE ITEMS AWAY ON THE SITE?
On the homepage, click “GIVE/SELL.” Then simply follow the prompts.

HOW CAN I TAKE A PHOTO FOR MY AD?
Only one photo is permitted per ad.
We recommend taking a photo that shows the entire item and includes space around it.
A panoramic shot may be a good idea.
HOW DO I POST AN AD ON THE HOMEPAGE?
To create a promoted ad, sign in to your Youniti account.
Click on “ My Offers”. Then click “ Promote”.
HOW MUCH DOES IT COST TO CREATE A PROMOTED AD?
For individuals, promoting an ad costs just $3.
CAN I GIVE OR SELL ANYTHING?
For security and prevention purposes and to ensure that Youniti remains a pleasant environment for all users, the sale, donation, request, exchange, loan and offering of certain goods and services is prohibited.
Prohibited goods and services include:
- Any goods or services that are prohibited by federal, provincial or municipal law
- Stocks and securities
- Alcohol delivery
- Firearms, weapons, ammunition, and, paintball guns
- Goods that could damage or harm a person or property
- Stolen or counterfeit goods, or items that violate intellectual property rights
- Recalled items
- Contests or lottery equipment
- Goods and services that are obscene, offensive, pornographic or sexual in nature
- Used cosmetic or esthetic products
- Drugs or medications
- Food (except pet food)
- Human organs, body parts/tissues or biological fluids
- Identification documents
- Products not authorized by Health Canada
- Dating or sexual services
- Tobacco, electronic cigarettes and related goods
- Vehicles without registration papers
Users who repeatedly attempt to publish offending goods and / or services will be suspended from Youniti
WHY WAS MY AD REJECTED ON THE GROUNDS OF A SIMILAR AD?
Our team of moderators is instructed to reject ads that are posted twice or ads that are very similar to previously posted ads.
By rejecting repeated ads, we ensure that users don’t see the same offer several times in the list.
CAN I OFFER SEVERAL GOODS OR SERVICES IN THE SAME AD?
Yes, you can, provided that the goods and/or services fall under the same category.
- Table and chairs (furniture)
- Plates and frying pans
- Children’s clothing with adult clothing
- Legal services in several different areas
CAN ITEMS BE SENT BY MAIL?
For environmental reasons, the site encourages local exchanges.
However, items can be sent by mail. Users should keep in mind that sending items by mail sometimes poses problems.
- Parcel lost, along with stamps or shipping costs
- Parcel lost
- Parcel not sent by user
- Scams involving shipping/customs fees
These problems can result in frustration and incomplete transactions. We simply wish to inform you of the problems that can arise. Youniti cannot be held responsible if material or financial losses occur.
TIPS FOR SUCCESSFUL TRANSACTIONS
If you aren’t comfortable having strangers come to your home, arrange to meet outside or in a public place.
Once you have reached an agreement with another user, you may want to give them your telephone number. That way they can let you know if they are running late or have to cancel at the last minute.
SECTION 4: FIND, REQUEST AND PICK UP DONATIONS
HOW TO PICK UP ITEMS FROM A GIVER/SELLER?
These rules are just common sense, but a reminder is always useful.
It’s important to schedule a meeting time with the giver/seller and to be punctual.
Make sure you bring the giver/seller’s phone number with you. It might come in handy if you have trouble finding the meeting place or if you run late.
I CONTACTED A USER BUT NEVER HEARD BACK. WHAT SHOULD I DO?
Some users get several messages and can’t answer everyone. If a user wants to offer you their item or service, they will send you a personal message.
SECTION 5 : TIPS FOR BUSINESSES
WHAT PRICE TO WRITE ON AN OFFER IF YOUR GOODS AND SERVICES HAVE VARIABLE PRICES ?
We suggest to businness advertising good and services with variable prices (such as restaurants), to write the starting price or the average price when creating an offer on Youniti. Thereafter, businesses can write the price details in the description of the offer. For example, a restaurant can specify that is table d'hôte is starting at $15.
DO BUSINESSES HAVE TO WRITE THEIR OFFER IN FRENCH OR IN ENGLISH ?
As Youniti is a bilingual website, we recommand to businesses to write their offer in French and in English. The English description can be right after the French one.
SECTION 6 : RATING OTHER USERS
HOW DO I RATE A USER?
To rate another user, you have to wait to receive the evaluation e-mail. This email will automatically sent to you by Youniti's team when an offer for which you have contacted another user is deleted.
